1. Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Across the Ages, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. You must be legally able to agree to these terms.

2. Personal and lawful use

Across the Ages is provided for personal family organization, age calculation, memory keeping, and related lawful purposes. You may not misuse the app, attempt to disrupt it, reverse engineer protected portions except where law permits, or use it to violate another person’s rights.

3. Accuracy of dates and calculations

Age, anniversary, reminder, memorial, and photo-age results depend on the dates and information entered by the user. You are responsible for reviewing important dates and correcting inaccurate or incomplete information. The app is a family organization tool and is not a legal, medical, financial, genealogical-certification, or identity-verification service.

4. Family information and photographs

You retain ownership of information and photographs you enter or import. You are responsible for having the right to use, store, and share that material and for respecting the privacy of the people represented.

Do not use the app to store unlawful content or content that infringes copyright, privacy, publicity, or other rights.

5. Backups, exports, and device security

You are responsible for deciding whether to use iCloud backup, for confirming that a backup completed successfully, and for retaining any export you need. You are also responsible for the security of your device, Apple account, passcodes, backup PINs, and exported family files.

Before deleting or resetting information, confirm that any needed backup or export can be located and restored.

6. Sharing with other people

When you export or share a family file, you choose the recipient and transmission method. The recipient may be able to view, copy, store, modify, or further share the information. Send files only to trusted people and through methods you consider appropriate.

7. App Store downloads and purchases

Downloads, subscriptions, or in-app purchases, if offered, are processed by Apple and are subject to the terms, billing rules, refund policies, and family-sharing rules presented through the App Store. Features, pricing, and availability may change before or after launch.

8. Availability and changes

The app may be updated, improved, changed, suspended, or discontinued. Features can vary by app version, device, operating system, region, and enabled Apple services. Continued use after an update to these terms constitutes acceptance of the revised terms where permitted by law.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Across the Ages is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free calculations, permanent data availability, compatibility with every device, or fitness for a particular purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of family data, photographs, memories, profits, or opportunities arising from use of or inability to use the app. Liability that cannot legally be excluded remains limited as required by applicable law.

11. Intellectual property

The app name, logo, interface, written content, software, and original design elements are owned by or licensed to the developer and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of the app or its branding to the user.

12. Severability and entire agreement

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any App Store terms that apply, form the agreement governing use of the app.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to acrosstheagesapp@gmail.com.
